David Copperfield's thoughts of home

I'm reading David Copperfield by Dickens. In the story, David has been away at school and is returning home.
"Ah, what a strange feeling it was to be going home when it was not home, and to find that every object I looked at reminded me of the happy old home, which was like a dream I could never dream again ! "

I don't understand the depth of Dickens here, but as I read this, I couldn't help but think of you all. I realized that even being at home all summer doesn't really feel like home without you all around; I find myself longing for the happy old home that we build together. Anyway, I'm just wondering how your summers have been (and hoping that it's been better and cooler than mine - you all can't believe how freagin' hot it is here).

love that quote, rood, and more importantly your sentiments as you reflect on it! we're thinking of you, too, as the temp climbs in the upper 90's here this week. hope you're surviving the summer heat. we're excited for new & old friends to be joining you in just a couple week's time! wish we were on our way back too...:(
