p.s. for those of you in meiguo, we had our annual "Christmas Vacation" viewing (and laughed our heads off) and decorated the Sawyer family Christmas tree this past sunday. katie, we of course thought of you when santa ran around on his toothpick legs during the opening credits hahaha!

a mutual friends' wedding was the occasion for bringing 4 of the 7 of us together a couple weekend's ago in charlottesville.... and then we were blessed with the addition of katie, bopping down after her narnia retreat, to hang out with us! some highlights of the weekend included lauren finally rounding out our group in person (rather than laptop-bound), mellow-mushroom pizza, late-night at the ever-sketchy Italian Villa, puck leading us in an informative tour of the Grounds and the overall wonderful feeling of being reunited with family :) however, it wasn't the same without you guys, rood and GA :(...know that you were missed!

David Copperfield's thoughts of home

I'm reading David Copperfield by Dickens. In the story, David has been away at school and is returning home.
"Ah, what a strange feeling it was to be going home when it was not home, and to find that every object I looked at reminded me of the happy old home, which was like a dream I could never dream again ! "

I don't understand the depth of Dickens here, but as I read this, I couldn't help but think of you all. I realized that even being at home all summer doesn't really feel like home without you all around; I find myself longing for the happy old home that we build together. Anyway, I'm just wondering how your summers have been (and hoping that it's been better and cooler than mine - you all can't believe how freagin' hot it is here).

Question of the hour: There are 7 original "team of awesomeness" members who own a Puckey shirt. Are there any rules as to who wears this Puckey shirt? Keyi bu keyi a "non-member" be given the privilege of wearing "the good buddy?"

CONS:

• If we pass the Puckey around to anyone, his mysterious sitings might not actually be in the presence of an original team member...
• If we pass the Puckey around to anyone, well, he'd be easy....and no one wants an easy... (poor form on my part, but I have to admit I'm laughing)

PROS:

• If we pass the Puckey around, more beautiful and photogenic people (like ourselves) will be able to enjoy the good buddy. (see exhibit A)

the puckey-tee proves yet again to be an incredibly versatile, all-weather/all-sport piece of fine clothing, as modeled here on the water in weems, virginia. sarah and kevin enjoyed some late afternoon kayaking with the puck on their recent vacation with kevin's family....



the t-shirt was so brilliant and mesmerizing , in fact, that sally --in a fit of envy and momentary lament over the absence of her own signature puckey-tee --attempted to overthrow kevin and steal the goods right off his back! the outcome of this jousting-match has yet to be determined...the cameraman had to flee for his life...

Puckey's at Spring Lake....which actually isn't a lake, but a beach in NJ.

In December 2006 seven tee shirt were made for the world's most photogentic people. This website is a tribute, not merely to Puck who so carefully and creatively recorded our year with his camera, but for us. I thought it would be a fun way for us to keep in touch with each other.

So this is the way the game works. Take a picutre of yourself in your "Puckey... He's a good buddy" tee shirt at fameous places or with fameous people and upload it to the blog. Simple, right? For bonus points, add a funny story about how the photo was taken or a brief update about how you're doing. Also bonus points are given for fameous firsts (e.g. first photo from Mississippi).
