Employee of the Month
Confession. Usually when I post something here is just a gimick, or an excuse to keep in touch with you all. This time is different.
I'm gonna creat an "Employee of the Month" photo of myself at work, but I don't usually keep bad or cheezy photos of me. So I don't have any. But the thought occured to me, that some of you all might.
If you have some that you have any funny pics of me, could you email them to me?

the Rood Rolls out...

true to tradition, we hit up palauner's for a raucous night of sausage-and-beer-induced fun before rood departed for the states. not much appears to have changed... the philipino band has still got it goin' on, complete with sketchy/overly friendly asian people cozying up to a choice american or two for some action on the dance floor (i'll post a video of mer's unfortunate run-in with one of them if i can master such technologically advanced blogging skills!). no scarves involved this time, though. the highlight was playing our request for rihanna's umbrella right before we had to leave! katie and justin, next time you see kev ask him to unleash his 'umbrella.' anyway, here are some random pics from that night! miss you guys!

and finally....submit-your-own-caption for this shot!
example:
puck: i sure am some shuai guy...
lisa: did puck just let one...?

Rivers run through them
I'm enjoying Roanoke, but I really miss the city. One thing these places have in common... both cities are known by rivers that run through them.

Oh me oh my

The Sparrow Quartet has a new album coming out TOMORROW. May 20th !
You can hear it on her myspace sight http://www.myspace.com/abigailwashburn
It's a little bit more folky than bluegrass but I dig it.
I also found out that she's gonna be in at Wolftrap on June 25 and in Charlottesville on June 27th. You can bet your bottom dollar that I'm going to at one of those shows (if not both).

Country Cookout
So here are some photos from my time in the US. Saturday my cousin hosted a country cookout on his farm. The kids entertained themselves while the rest us went sittin' and visitin'.

My Auntie
Since no one else seems to be leaving pictures or comments I'm just going to take over this blog for my own personal use.
This afternoon was sad day. I'm going back to the states for just a few months. I'm going to see most of my friends again, save one. I dont know if I'm ever going to see this wonderful woman ever again. She's moving across the river to make sure that her daughter gets into a better school. I never would have imagined how helpful she would become for me. I have come to rely upon her to take care of laundry, clean up my kitchen, dust, and put all the odds and ends away. Most of all I'll miss the gracious way she speaks slowly and clearly to me. If I don't understand, she doesn't get embarassed for me - she just repeats or restates herself in a way that I can understand. She's blessed me almost as much as anyone here. I'm gonna miss her.
